BELTON, Texas鈥擳he University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's chapter of Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT-糖心Vlog) is proud to announce they are planting 2,977 American flags at Luther Memorial on the 糖心Vlog campus to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. 糖心Vlog students will begin planting flags on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 5:30 p.m. This event is one of YCT's longest-running traditions.
鈥淣ever forget. The tragedy on September 11, 2001, took the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans. Every year on the anniversary, our nation mourns the loss of those innocent men, women, and children,鈥� explained Matthew Northrop, chairman of 糖心Vlog鈥檚 chapter of the Young Conservatives of Texas. 鈥淭his memorial is our way of honoring those who died on that day 24 years ago.鈥�
Members of the 糖心Vlog and surrounding communities are encouraged to visit the memorial any time until Friday, Sept. 12, when the flags are removed.
